Alene Sirott-Cope is a professional graphic designer, potter, mixed media artist, art director, and art educator. A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia, Alene majored in Advertising Design with a minor in Photography. She uses her expertise with graphic design concepts, including color, shape, and texture, in all of her artwork.

“I prefer to present most of my art frameless. My hanging presentations  stand away from the wall, giving the art depth and dimension while utilizing space and shadows to focus the viewer on the subject matter.”

“Since becoming handicapped, my interest has shifted to the calming and quiet nature of the Floridian environment where I live part of the year. Most of my art gets inspiration from my backyard water birds or nearby ocean landscapes.”
“My art has evolved many times in a variety of media. My latest venture centers on alcohol ink painting. I love the vivid colors and the movement of the inks when they combine. They take on a life of their own and are quite serendipitous. The feeling of zen is very healing. The outcome is similar to watercolors but the ink can be applied to many non-porous substrates.

Alcohol Ink is a fairly recent art medium and was first recognized as a scrapbooking tool. It is now growing as a fine art application.”
Alene teaches workshops to introduce this unique medium to others who are not familiar with its impromptu properties.
Alene’s works have been highlighted in publications including The Crafts Report, the Art Calendar cover, Boston Globe, The Nashua Telegraph, The Hollis Brookline Journal, The Lowell Sun, Polymer Café, Funeria Art Honors Life and exhibited at The Elliot Museum, in art calendars and an HGTV segment entitled That’s Clever. Her work appears in galleries, catalogs and gift shops throughout the USA. Selected works are showcased in the collections of several politicians and celebrities. Her colorful art is also now available in wearable form in specialized clothing lines.
