Call for Artists

A call out to all talented artists who want to exhibit their work where thousands of patients, visitors and hospital employees will view their work every day!  New England Art Reach manages rotating art exhibits in hospitals from New England artists. This is a wonderful opportunity to support local artists and add beauty and enlightenment for all to experience as they walk along the the public areas of the hospitals. New England Art Reach currently manages art exhibitions at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA, and Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, MA.

 

Eligibility:

Open to all artists working 2 dimensional art forms – we currently do not have the ability to exhibit sculpture, jewelry or pottery.


Entry:

  • Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Submit work as digital images (jpgs) via email or saved in an electronic format (CD, flash drive etc.)
  • Along with electronic portfolio, please include a list with the following information:
    • First and last name
    • Mailing address, city, state, zip
    • Telephone numbers (daytime and evening)
    • Email address
    • Website address
    • List of artwork that includes title, medium, and dimension information for each piece (Please number each piece so that numbers correspond to numbered jpgs.)
    • Please send your electronic portfolio, resume, and artist’s statement to:

Restrictions:

  • Works can be no larger than 48” in height and 60″ wide
  • Subject matter of the work must be appropriate for a healthcare setting with the sensitivity of the audience in mind

Accepted Work:

  • Generally 10-14 pieces of work per artist are exhibited.
  • Only pieces that have been submitted for review will be considered for display.
  • Every effort is made to hang as much of an artist’s work as possible, however, all submitted pieces may not be used based on patient/staff reactions or space constraints.

Delivery and Retrieval:

  • Selected artists are fully responsible for the delivery of their work to and from the Hospital
  • New England Art Reach does not have storage capacity to save materials that artwork is delivered in
  • The artist is fully responsible for any insurance of his/ her work during transit as well as exhibition.
  • While utmost care is given to all entries, the New England Art Reach does not assume liability for damage or loss before, during or after the exhibition.

New England Art Reach offers a service to hospitals to have rotating art work from New England artists on display. This wonderful opportunity supports local artists and adds beauty for all to experience while walking along the hallways and public areas.

Typical rotations are every three to six months. All art work is for sale and Art Reach handles all transactions between buyers and the artists. 20% of all sales go back to the hospital. Fees for these services are contingent upon the size of the venue and the number of rotations.
